Creating and editing tasks
You’re not always at your computer when an idea or a task comes to mind, so it’s great to be able to create tasks with Flow’s iOS app.
To start creating a task, just tap the New Task button (in the top right corner, in most views) to open the task form.
Once here, enter the task name. Then you have the option of adding the task to a project; if you don’t choose one, it will be added to your Inbox. You can also set a single or repeating due date, assign to someone else, subscribe teammates to receive updates on the task, add tags, and a first comment.
At the top of the task form, you can also choose to flag the task. If you’re creating the task, you can’t unsubscribe from notifications, so you’ll see the subscribe icon highlighted.
Once you’re finished, tap "Save".
To edit existing tasks, tap Edit in the open task view bring up the Edit Task form. You can edit the task name, change/add a project, set/change a due date (or set a repeating task), change the assignee, change/add task subscribers, and add tags. Click Done to save your changes.
You can also edit tasks directly from any task project by swiping on the task row.
You can quickly add sections to your projects to organize your tasks into relevant categories and processes. Use sections to create a timeline, set milestones, or indicate the progress your projects.
To create a new section in iOS, just tap the
+ in top right corner of your screen. This will open the task pane.
In the task pane, tap the project field to select the project you want to create the section(s) in. When the project is selected, the “Sections” field will appear below the project field in the task pane. Tap “Choose a section” to open up popover menu. Here you can either select an available section (if you want to add a task to it) or tap “New” to create a new section in the project.
Next, enter the name of your section and tap “Add” to create the new Section. This section will automatically save and appear in the section field.
If you want to create more than one section, just tap the section field again and repeat the above steps. Please note you do not need to create/save the task to create the new section, but if you do create a task with a section selected it will be sorted under the section as soon as it is saved.
Once saved, your section names will appear in grey banners with a quick taskbar under each section header. This allows you to quickly create tasks in the section of your choice without the use of task pane.
