Using our Chrome desktop shortcut
One of the great things about Flow is that you can use it from any browser on any device or operating system. However, it’s nice for the apps you use all the time to feel more native and integrated with your computer, rather than just another tab in your browser.
Google Chrome makes it easy to turn any web app, including Flow, into a more native app on your PC. Once you’ve set it up, you can launch Flow right from your taskbar or start menu, just like any normal application on your computer. It will still be running from the web, but will be in its own window and will have the Flow icon readily available in your taskbar.
Here’s what you’ll need to do. Once you have Google Chrome installed on your computer, just login to your Flow account in the browser as usual. Then, click the Customize icon in the top right corner next to the URL field, select "More Tools", then click "Create application shortcuts…"
Chrome will automatically add Flow’s app icon, and let you save the new Flow app to your Start Menu, taskbar, or desktop. Choose any or all of the places you’d like to place the icon, and click "Create".
You can now launch Flow directly from any of the icons you’ve created, and it will open in its own window, with Flow’s app icon in your taskbar. It’s still the same online Flow running in Chrome, but now it feels much more like a native integrated app.
If you’re using a Mac, you can’t install an application shortcut from Chrome, but we recommend downloading our Mac app to get a similarly native experience for your Mac.
