Delegate a Task to Someone Who Isn’t a Flow User

Need to assign a task to a colleague who isn’t using Flow already? Don’t worry; you can invite them to Flow and assign tasks to them directly, even if they don’t have an account.

Here’s what you need to do. Just log into Flow, open the New Task form, and create a task as normal.

Once you’ve added all the info you need in the task, you’re ready to assign it to your friend. In the delegation field, type the name or email address of your collaborator who’s not a Flow user.

When Flow can’t find a contact with that name, it’ll offer to let you add a new contact. Click the “Invite” button that appears at the bottom of the pop-out menu.

Now, fill in your collaborator’s name and email address.

Click “+ Send Invite”, then finally save your task.

If the contact is not already a Flow user, they’ll be invited to try Flow for free for fourteen days. If they choose not to sign up or their trial expires, they’ll still be able to collaborate with you by using Flow’s Collaborator view.
